Welcome to the City of White Settlement, a community rich in its Native American history. The name of White Settlement was original bestowed upon the community by the Indians. When much of the territory was unsettled, the area became known as the “white settlement’ because it was inhabited and settled by non- Native Americans, or “the whites”, later many of the roaming Indians settled down in the area and the name continued.
Emerging from the dust of cattle drives, White Settlements history began in the early 1800’s and continues today by way of Loop 820 to the West, Interstate 30 to the South, and 341 / 183 leading into Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base to the East. White Settlement is bordered by beautiful Lake Worth to the North where many residents enjoy fishing and boating activities.
White Settlement is a community known for its family friendly park facilities and neighborhoods as well as its welcoming business atmosphere. As a community that hosts several family and group events annually, from Girls Fast-Pitch Tournaments and Disc Golf Tournaments to Public Safety Days and Discount Animal Clinics, seeing our residents and visitors thrive is our priority, helping our businesses succeed is our goal.
The government of the City of White Settlement exists to promote and sustain a superior quality of life. In partnership with the community and others, we pledge to deliver cost-effective services and quality facilities in a personal, responsive, and innovative manner.
